Associate Civil Engineer - Pleasanton, CA

Job Description

We are looking for several highly motivated associate level civil engineers to join our Pleasanton team. Candidates with 5-10 years hands-on experience in land development and public infrastructure design are encouraged to apply. Prior work experience in land development, drainage and flood control, or municipal sewer and water system design is mandatory.

Associate Civil Engineers work under the general direction of our senior staff on a variety of tasks on a wide range of land development and public infrastructure projects (including residential/commercial and mixed use developments, transportation projects and public infrastructure projects (sanitary sewer, water supply, water resources and storm drainage). Assignments may include supervision of junior staff, of AutoCAD Civil 3D design and drafting, grading and earthwork design, hydrology/hydraulics calculations, as well as coordination with public agencies and other consultants.

Desired Skills and Experience

Engineers with strong technical abilities who want to join our team of professionals working in a close knit, high energy office culture are encouraged to apply. Land development and public infrastructure design experience in California is highly desirable. Knowledge of civil engineering terms, methods, and principles is mandatory. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel is also required. Expertise in storm drainage, flood control and water system design and analysis utilizing HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, XP-Storm, and WaterCAD Version 8i would be extremely desirable for some positions.

Excellent written and oral skills are required, as well as demonstrated leadership skills. The successful candidates will be internally motivated individuals who thrive in a team orientated, client driven work environment. Prior project management experience would be a plus. B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited university is required. Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in California is highly desirable.
