Project Description
MacKay and Somps analyzed the Chevron BRC site to determine if the Stormwater system met the requirements of LEED for Commercial Interiors.
The analysis of the Quality Control system required a review of the onsite stormwater quality control plan and recommendation of Best Management Practices (BMPs) to meet the Environmental Protection Agency’s recommended standards for pollutant removal. In order to meet the standard, 80% of the Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and 40% of the Total Phosphorus (TP) had to be removed from the project runoff. MacKay and Somps analyzed a suite of BMPs including street sweeping, structural filters and phosphorus-free fertilizers to develop a cost effective solution that was adopted by the building owner to earn the LEED credit.
