Placer Ranch is a 2,200 acre Specific Plan Area located in Placer County, representing a key portion of the County’s Sunset Area Plan. Placer Ranch is envisioned as a mixed-use community, providing nearly 500 acres for a corporate campus with supporting commercial uses, approximately 5,800 homes of varying types and densities, and over 350 acres of parks, open spaces, and other public uses. In addition, a 300 acre site for a future satellite campus for Sacramento State University forms the centerpiece of Placer Ranch, positioned next to a uniquely designed and walkable “Town Center.” Both the University and the Town Center lie central to the surrounding job centers and residential neighborhoods.
